Gold, silver output increases in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan produced nearly 4.81 tons of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold in January 2017, or 11.4 percent more than in the same period in 2016, the Kazakh Statistics Committee said.
According to the committee, the fine gold production increased by 23.7 percent - to 1.75 tons in Kazakhstan in January 2017.

The production of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver rose by 60.4 percent to 67.92 tons in Kazakhstan in January 2017 compared to January 2016.

The fine silver production was 67.52 tons in Kazakhstan, that is, 59.8 percent more than in January- 2016.
Meanwhile unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold production in Kazakhstan in January 2017 decreased by 31.7 percent compared to December 2016. The production of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver decreased by 22.3 percent in January 2017 compared to December 2016.

In 2016 Kazakhstan produced nearly 74.63 tons of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder gold, or 17.3 percent more than in the same period in 2015. The output of unprocessed, semi-processed and powder silver hit 1,180 tons in Kazakhstan in 2016, which is 9.8 percent less than in 2015.
