Tashkent remains the largest industrial center of Uzbekistan, according to the data of the State Statistics Committee. Roughly 19 percent of the total number of industrial enterprises is located in the capital city.
Tashkent is followed by Navoi and Andijan (9.2%) and Kashkadarya (7.7%) areas.
In January-November of 2017, the Uzbek enterprises produced industrial products worth 127.4 trillion soums, the growth rate amounted to 105.8% compared to the same period of 2017.
The largest volume of output was produced by refining enterprises, accounting for 78.3 percent of the total. A significant contribution to the growth of production was made by mining enterprises, the share of which amounted to 12.4 percent of the total volume.
Analysts note that the share of local enterprises in the total volume of industrial production was 52.7 percent.
Currently, about 49,000 industrial enterprises operate inuzbekistan, including 9,600 enterprises created in January-November 2017.
Of these, the fourth part falls on the capital, where 2,400 enterprises were established, 1,066 in the Ferghana region, 984 in Tashkent, 855 in Samarkand, more than 700 enterprises in Namangan and Andijan regions, more than 400 enterprises in the Bukhara region, more than 300 - in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Djizak, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions and more than 200 in the Navoi and Syrdarya regions.
