Kazakhstan’s northern region increases exports to Kyrgyzstan, Russia

North-Kazakhstan region increased exports of goods to Russia and Kyrgyzstan, the head of the statistics department of the region Maral Nurzhupova said at a meeting of the local executive body.

She stressed that the growth of exports to Russia and Kyrgyzstan positively affects the export potential of the region, adding that the volume of the region's exports in January-March 2018 increased by 1.6 times.

Touching upon the economy of the region, Nurzhapova said that in the first three months of 2018, North Kazakhstan achieved growth in almost all of the priority sectors.

"The growth of industrial production amounted to 64.4 billion tenge, food production increased by 36 percent, production of plastic products - by 18 percent. The gross output of agriculture amounted to 22.5 billion tenge in the reporting period," Nurzhupova said.

The local officials also agreed that the region can achieve higher indicators due to the diversification of agriculture production.

The management of the region also expects growth in industrial production and construction sector.
