Online car auction will be launched in Azerbaijan for the first time, Head of Audatex Azerbaijan Zakir Karimzade told Trend on Oct. 27.

The company will connect to Autoonline, the largest auction in Europe for the sale of vehicles, which operates in 29 countries around the world, Karimzade said.

"It is a closed auction. The website will feature cars of corporate clients or individuals who have a tax identification number," he said.

In particular, it is planned to put on sale cars of insurance companies that have lost their value and cars of banks, rental services or companies that are updating their car fleet, Karimzade added.

"Buyers will not be able to see the other bidders' offers and depending on the offer, the seller will decide whether or not to sell the car. If the price is good and satisfies the seller’s request, he contacts the buyer at the end of the auction. In case, if the information about the car displayed on the website corresponds to the real condition of the vehicle, the sides make a deal," he said.

Karimzade noted that the main advantage of an online auction is transparency, so there will be no auto dealers in the system who try to buy at a very low price, and the auction will also save time for the seller.

"People are more interested to buy a car at a real price. For example, corporate clients do not have a benchmark for the price when they want to sell a car. In this case, only reference point is car ad sites. Most often prices are either inflated or undervalued there," Karimzade said.

As the head of Audatex Azerbaijan noted, the test project starts with one client and for the first time 15 cars of different brands and types will be displayed.
