By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the State Customs Service conduct more thorough inspection of products imported into the country, Trend reports with reference to the local Altyn Asyr TV channel.

This issue was raised at the recent meeting of the State Security Council. The president stressed that considering the growth of foreign economic activity and the increase in international freight traffic, it is necessary to ensure more thorough inspection of products imported into the country and fully comply with the established quality standards, the report said.

Ashgabat considers it a priority to develop the large-scale North-South and East-West transport corridors, increase the capabilities of the Central Asia-Persian Gulf communication network and to develop transport links in the Caspian-Black Sea region.

These projects cover the expansion of transport and communication ties between the countries of Central Asia with their further access to the markets of Europe, Southeast Asia, the Near and Middle East.
