Foreign capital's share in Uzbek enterprises increases

In January-February 2019, 578 enterprises with the participation of foreign capital were created in Uzbekistan, which is 2.4 times more than in January-February 2018, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

With the participation of Russian capital 107 enterprises were re-established, the amount of Turkish re-established enterprises is 72, Kazakh - 67, Chinese - 60, South Korean - 42.

The largest number of enterprises with foreign capital created in the first two months of this year were in the trade sector — 177, industrial — 152, construction — 64, and agricultural — 52.

Some 22 enterprises again formed with the participation of foreign investors in the area of housing and nutrition services,, information and communication — 14, transportation and storage — 18, health and social services — 11, and other sectors — 68.

In total, as of March 1, 2019, the number of enterprises with foreign capital participation in Uzbekistan was 8,050 units, which is 41.1 percent more compared to the same period last year.

The largest number of enterprises with the participation of foreign investors accounted for Russian capital - 1516, Chinese - 1170, Turkish - 936, South Korean - 670 and Kazakhstan - 574.

Earlier it was reported that in 2018, 2,400 enterprises with the participation of foreign capital were formed in Uzbekistan, which is 2.8 times more than in 2017, including in the industrial sector - 728 (an increase of 75.8 percent) , trade - 654 (an increase of 4.8 times), construction - 229 (an increase of 3.4 times), agriculture - 190 (an increase of 3.7 times).
