There are plans to harvest 82,400 tons of rice this year in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Agriculture Ministry.
A total of 18,300 hectares of paddy fields are planned to be sown in Dashoguz and Lebap regions of Turkmenistan.
Seeds of high-quality varieties “Nukus-2”, “Munbashi” and “Alenga” are used during the sowing. Rice is rich in carbohydrates and is considered one of the staple foods in Central and Southeast Asia.
