Iran’s Sangan Iron Ore Complex aims to increase production

The Sangan Iron Ore Complex located in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan aims to produce about 14 million tons of iron ore this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Trend reports with reference to the website of the Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IMIDRO).

The Sangan Iron Ore Complex produced 5.6 million tons of iron ore last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

The Sangan Iron Ore Complex executed the production plan for last year (3 million tons).

This year, 4,000-meters deep exploration will be conducted in Sangan iron ore mine. Sangan mine with total reserves of 1 billion tons is one of the ten biggest iron ore mines in the world.

These mines provide raw materials for the production of 17.5 million tons of concentrate and 15 million tons of iron ore pellets.
