Kazakhstan reduces rice export

In January-March 2019, Kazakhstan exported 25,900 tons of rice worth up to $7.2 million, Trend reports citing LS news agency.

The volume of export decreased by 7.6 percent. In turn, the rice export revenue decreased by 13.1 percent.

The major part of the rice export accounts for export to Uzbekistan. In two months, this country purchased almost 10,600 tons of rice worth $3.2 million.

Tajikistan purchased about 8,900 tons of rice worth $2.2 million, Russia purchased 3,900 tons worth $927,300, and Ukraine purchased 1,300 tons worth 329,700.

Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan bought 408 tons of rice worth $95,300, Afghanistan purchased 272 tons worth $76,800, Turkmenistan purchased 204 tons worth $133,300 and Mongolia purchased 137.6 tons worth $77,500.
