Uzbekistan almost doubles production of cars

in January-May 2019, Uzbekistan produced more than 98,780 passenger cars, which is 46.7 percent higher compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The Committee estimates that the production of trucks increased 1.9 times in the reporting period up to 2,044 units.

In the reporting period, Uzbekistan produced 762 buses, which is 3.5 times more compared to the same period in 2018.

The production of automobile engines in Uzbekistan in January-May 2019 amounted to 78,320. The increase compared with the same period of 2018 was 53.7 percent. The output of tractors was 338 units, which is 70.4 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.

In the reporting period, Uzbekistan reduced gasoline production by 16.5 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 389,000 tons. The volume of diesel fuel production amounted to 437,400 tons, which is 11.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan reduced oil production by 7.6 percent over the same period, to 290,400 tons. Natural gas production amounted to about 25.89 billion cubic meters, which is 3.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.

The country produced more than 875,300 tons of gas condensate, which is 2.2 percent less compared to 2018.

In January-May 2019, Uzbekistan increased electricity generation by 1.1 percent compared to the same period of 2018. The country's enterprises generated about 26.5 billion kWh of electricity.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan produced 13.84 million Gcal of heat energy, which is 1.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
