Russia - main consumer of Uzbek textiles

In the first five months of 2019, Uzbekistan shipped textile products to Russia for $250.2 million which is more than 38 percent of national textile exports, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

The official data states that over the past three years, exports of Uzbek textiles to China have more than doubled - from $ 90.9 million in January-May 2017 to $ 190.3 million in the five months of this year.

The largest consumers of textile products from Uzbekistan include Turkey, where from the beginning of the year products were shipped for $63.6 million, Kyrgyzstan - for $34.9 million, Iran - for $19.7 million, Kazakhstan - for $16.6 million and Poland - for $10.7 million

The State Statistics Committee notes that in January-May 2019, exports of textile products amounted to $653.7 million and increased compared to the same period of 2018, by 21.9 percent, which is 10.2 percent of total exports.

From the structure of textile exports, the main share is cotton yarn (58.6 percent), as well as finished knitwear and garments (22.4 percent).

Since the beginning of the year, more than 336 types of goods have been exported to 50 countries of the world.
