The Independent, a British online newspaper, has published a list of nine best European wines, among which Georgian varieties are particularly noted, Trend reports with reference to bizzone.info.

European wines were selected from non-EU countries. Along with products from Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, Switzerland, and Macedonia, two Georgian wines were included in the lists: Saperavi wine 2008 of the Orovela company and Kisi wine 2017 of Iberuli company.

Saperavi is a dry red wine with a characteristic dense dark garnet color, ripe red berries in the aroma harmoniously matching the rich flavor and velvety wine, in which the natural sweetness and tartness are balanced by pleasant acidity.

Kisi is one of the most interesting creations of Georgian winemakers, belonging to the class of dry white wines. The Kisi wine produced from the grape variety of the same name attracts attention of many wine connoisseurs around the world.

The article in The Independent also focuses on the wines of Eastern Europe, where there is an ancient culture of wine making.
