Value of annual exports of Iran’s Gilan Province estimated at $500M

The value of exports of Iran’s northern Gilan Province is estimated at $500 million for the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
He made the remarks at a meeting of the working group for the development of the province’s non-oil exports. According to him, the export value of Gilan Province in the industrial sector is forecast to be $262 million this year. He added that the cost of export of agricultural products is estimated at $233 million.
"Exports worth $4.7 million and $300,000 are expected in the mining sector and in the carpet industry, respectively," he said.
Dalghpoush noted that a number of opportunities have been created to increase the export of non-oil products from Gilan Province in order to benefit from the Anzali Free Trade Zone's potential and encourage exports.
