Iran to implement projects worth $630M in Kerman province

Steel production plants and power plants worth $630 million will be commissioned in Iran's south-eastern Kerman province during Iran Government Week (August 24-30), said Khudadad Qaribpour, Chairman of the Board of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Four projects will be implemented in the province, Qaribpour added, Trend reports referring to IMIDRO’s website.

These projects cover Baft Sponge Iron Production Plant producing 800,000 tons of sponge iron, Kowsar and Golgohar Iron & Steel Development Companies producing two million tons of sponge iron, Sirjan Jahan Steel Company producing 1.2 million tons of steel, and Sirjan thermal power plant generating 160 megawatts of thermal power.

The investments worth $134 million were made in the Baft Sponge Iron Production Plant, $116 million - in the Kowsar and Golgohar Iron & Steel Development Companies, $230 million - in the Sirjan Jahan Steel Company, and $152 million - in the Sirjan thermal power plant, he said.
