Uzbekistan to monitor prices for 106 types of goods, services

Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved the Regulation on the organization of continuous monitoring of prices (tariffs) for socially significant consumer, monopolistic and highly liquid types of goods and services, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
The document lists 106 types of goods and services, including 55 types of food products from bread to salt, 21 types of non-food from laundry soap to cars, five types of building materials from cement to brick, as well as animal feed, meal, husk and mineral fertilizers.
The list also covers 21 types of socially significant services, including contributions for the maintenance of common property, cold water supply and sewage, hot water supply, payment for electricity, network and liquefied gas, heating, garbage disposal, mobile communications and others.
Constant monitoring of prices (tariffs) for socially significant consumer, monopolistic and highly liquid types of goods and services will ensure non-discriminatory access for market participants to these goods and services and will support a healthy competitive environment, the news report said.
The monitoring includes both domestic and imported goods.
