A business delegation from Czech Republic will visit Azerbaijan, Milan Ekert,
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Azerbaijan said in an interview with Trend.
“We are currently in the process of planning such a visit, but it is unfortunately too early to disclose any more information about it,” he said, adding that such events are usually connected to visits of high-ranking officials of the respective countries.
Moreover, Ekert said that the 5th session of the Intergovernmental Commission should take place in Prague in the autumn of this year.
“As its name suggests, the Commission consist of representatives of various ministries and governmental agencies from both sides who are working together to promote and deepen the cooperation at inter-ministerial or even state level. I am sure that the Intergovernmental Commission will be instrumental in starting a new era of economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan,” noted the diplomat.
Other than that, as Ekert said, the embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku gives a great deal of importance to promoting contacts between Czech and Azerbaijani businesses.
“In 2019, we have already organized four business missions. On two occasions, we brought companies from the Czech Republic to Baku and on two others, we invited Azerbaijani companies to Prague. Those missions were focused on agriculture, power engineering, intelligent transport systems and aviation. I have to say that I am very satisfied with the results of those endeavours and we are definitely planning to continue with this model next year,” he added.
