Uzbek agriculture to benefit from Russian NEO Center’s development strategy (Exclusive)

Today Uzbekistan has significant advantages in the field of agriculture, in particular, a serious export potential and high domestic demand for agricultural products, Inna Golfand, a partner of the Russian NEO Center consulting company, told Trend in an interview.
Golfand added that the team of NEO Center analyzed the prospects and key areas of agricultural development in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, and each direction was subjected to detailed consideration.
“As a result, the administration of the Jizzakh region will receive a step-by-step action plan. It will be possible to achieve sustainable development of agricultural sector of the region in the long term,” said Golfand.
She noted that cooperation with NEO Center provides an opportunity to look at the problem globally and comprehensively and answer a number of strategically important questions: how to identify priority areas for development, how to predict and minimize risks, what are the drivers of market growth and what external and internal factors affect the industry, how to evaluate the results of project implementation and how to improve exports.
“The role of NEO Center as a consultant is to develop a set of measures that contribute to the accelerated and effective development of the agricultural sector Jizzakh region, taking into account the whole range of premises. Our approach implies supporting the project in several blocks: research and analytics, strategic consulting and raising funds,” stressed Golfand.
“We propose to focus on development of clustering in the region, including the development of vertically integrated supply chains, up to deep processing of products. We also see prospects for development in niche directions, as there is an opportunity to get a quick payback along with the market, which is now fully ensured by imports,” Golfand said.
She said that for a consulting company, such cooperation represents a huge opportunity for the development of new markets.
“It is in NEO's interest to develop the geography of our projects internationally,” she added.
According to her, NEO Center is ready to support investors who plan to enter the market of Uzbekistan in terms of strategic, operational consulting and attracting financing.
“We can analyze markets and prepare project concepts. We have extensive experience working with investment projects, and we will gladly expand the geography of cooperation. I don’t want to run ahead very much, but we are sure that cooperation with Uzbekistan will be interesting, and most importantly, fruitful,” said Golfand.
