First business association of artificial intelligence entitled "AI Georgia" has been created in Georgia, Trend reports referring to Georgian media outlets.
AI Georgia began its work with the presentation of a new research project conducted at the Georgian Business and Technology University (BTU). As was announced at the event, creator of the Georgian Digital Mind, 18-year-old Giorgi Chakhnashvili will conduct the AI-based research with assistance of the university (BTU).
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Google and a number of large European corporations have already expressed interest in the project, said the report.
Head of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) Irakli Beridze also attended the presentation. He told about international experience in this area and spoke about what Georgia needs to do in order to maximize the use of the existing potential in the field of artificial intelligence.
The main goal of the new association is to develop the technology of creating intelligent machines in the country. AI Georgia will also work to increase public awareness of the importance of introducing artificial intelligence, which can play an important role in the security and simplification of the work in the business and public sectors. The organization will also support research work in this sphere.
