President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has instructed to accelerate the work on construction projects of at least three new cement plants in the country, Trend reports referring to the country's Ministry of Industry and Communications.
The head of state made this remark at a meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Communications. During the meeting, the president stressed that it is necessary to meet domestic needs and export cement.
Today, a number of specialized cement plants are operating in Turkmenistan. However, the plan for the production of cement from January through October 2019 was completed by 61.2 percent, while metal rolling - by 64.4 percent.
The capacity of cement plants in Kalat settlement are used by 8.1 percent, in Lebap region - about 88 percent, in Baherden region - about 64 percent, in Balkan region - just over 40 percent.
The country's plants produce the most popular types of cement. This is Portland cement, which is used in the construction of multi-storey buildings and other facilities in the seismic zone.
Moreover, the country produces grouting cement for the oil and gas industry, as well as sulfate-resistant cement used for laying foundations, construction of bridge supports and other hydraulic structures.
A number of cement sales centers have opened in all regional centers to fully and timely meet consumer demand.
Local entrepreneurs have previously been instructed to arrange the construction of mini-plants throughout the country for the production of 100,000 tons of cement per year.
