The volume of business sector turnover in Georgia increased by 33 percent in the third quarter of 2019 compared to the same quarter of 2018 and amounted to 29 billion lari ($9.8 billion), Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
As reported, the production value of the business sector is characterized by the growth tendency.
In the third quarter of 2019, its volume equaled to 12.8 billion lari ($4.3 billion), which is 19.8 percent higher year-on-year.
In the third quarter of 2019, 51.9 percent of total turnover comes on large, 19.9 percent – on medium, and 28.2 percent - on small businesses.
A small difference is observed in terms of total production value: 38.2 percent comes on large, 23.7 percent – on medium, and 38.1 percent on small businesses.
In third quarter of 2019, total purchases of good and services carried out by enterprises equaled to 18.3 billion lari ($6.1 billion), which 23 percent higher year-on-year, while the purchase goods and services for resale amounted 10.4 billion lari ($3.5 billion), 13.9 percent higher year-on-year.
The total number of employed persons amounted 652,200 (3.9 percent higher year-on-year. Some 36.3 percent of total number of employees comes on large, 22.2 percent – on medium and 41.5 percent - on small businesses.
The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled to 2.6 billion lari ($880.5 million, which is 16.9 percent higher year-on-year.
