Chinese corporation Tianjin Kaiteng Investment Group intends to create a large livestock cluster in Uzbekistan’s Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
The cluster will be created on the territory of the Nukus Free Economic Zone and, among other activities, will be involved in the production of animal feed. Also, it will open a research veterinary center. The total cost of these projects will be $90 million.
In addition, the corporation intends to make a charitable contribution to improving the environmental situation in the region.
The corporation intends to turn the new livestock cluster into a model for all countries of Central Asia. Investors already managed to inspect the facilities of Karakalpakstan specializing in livestock and studied the climate and irrigation conditions.
