Iran imports from EAEU increases

TEHRAN, Iran, Jan.23

More than 90 percent of Iran's import from Eurasian countries was delivered based on preferential tariff agreement, said Iran Custom Administration spokesman.

"The import volume from Eurasian countries from October 27, 2019 reached 1.4 million tons, and about 1.3 million tons of it, which is 90 percent, was supplied based on preferential tariff and trade agreement," said Seyed Rouhollah Latifi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"The value of import based on preferential tariff during this period was $439.3 million. Around 34 percent of foreign trade with the Eurasia accounted for export, and 66 percent was import," Latifi said. "Russia shared the highest volume of trade with Iran."

"Iran's export volume since start of implementation of trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from October 27, 2019 to January 21, 2020, reached 663,035 tons worth $270 million, showing 24.3-percent increase of value in past three months," he added.

Iran and EAEU have concluded the agreement on preferential trade on 862 products.
