Export of ferroalloys, manganese from Georgia decreases

Ferroalloys and silicon manganese are among main export products of Georgia, Trend reports with reference to National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat)

According to Geostat, in 2019, exports of ferroalloys and manganese from Georgia amounted to $302.9 million and ranked third in the list of the largest export goods.

At the same time, in the first two months of 2020, their exports amounted to $42 million, which is 14.1 percent less than in two months in 2019.

From January through February 2020, Georgia exported ferroalloys and manganese worth $116.6 million to the United States. Meanwhile, export of ferroalloys and manganese from Georgia to Russia reached $114.5 million; Turkey - $18.4 million; Iran - $13.7 million; Brazil - $6.9 million; Azerbaijan - $4.9 million; Chile - $4.3 million; Peru - $3.8 million; the UK - $3.4 million; Spain - $3.3 million; Colombia - $3.1 million; Kazakhstan - $2.5 million; France - $2.2 million; and to Italy - $1.1 million.

According to the Geostat, this list includes countries whose exports exceed $1 million.

The largest producer of ferroalloys in Georgia is Georgian Manganese company, and the largest producers of silicon manganese are Rusellos, GTM Group and Chiaturmanganum Georgia.
