Presently, the world is passing to a new level of social relations, Manager of Azerbaijan’s Azexport website Aykhan Gadashov told Trend.

“Therefore, the principles of business and partnership are also changing,” the manager added. “To avoid the spread of coronavirus infection in the world, more than 1,000 exhibitions were canceled within two months. As a result, almost all global brands switched to online sales.”

“I think that it will be very difficult to restore the previous business relations soon until coronavirus vaccine is prepared,” manager added. “Presently, the entire burden falls on the electronic trading platforms. Azexport website has great potential to promote the export channels for ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ goods. The goods were previously supplied to the Philippines, Indonesia, the Dominican Republic, the US and so on thanks to the website.”

“Presently, the goods manufactured in Azerbaijan are demonstrated daily at 15 electronic trading platforms 24 hours a day,” the manager added. “The current situation will lead to an increase in export orders entering through the website. It is also planned to export the goods to many more countries.”

The Azexport website (www.azexport.az) was created upon the president’s order on creating a unified database of goods manufactured in Azerbaijan dated September 21, 2016. The main exported products are tobacco, chicken and eggs, hazelnuts, cottonseed oil, wine, pomegranate, onions, cosmetics, medical gauze, furniture, paint, confectionery, milk with fruit additives, mineral water and garlic.

The goal of the website, which is managed by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, is to provide information on products of Azerbaijani origin; it is an effective platform for their selling in foreign and domestic markets.
