The product exports through the Bazargan customs increased in West Azerbaijan province (northeastern Iran) have increased by 56 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 20-April 19, 2020) compared to the same month last Iranian year, the head of Bazargan Customs Administration Sadegh Namdar said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Namdar, 26,100 tons of products worth $609 million were exported through this customs in the first month.
Namdar added that the exported products were mainly agricultural, petrochemical, metal and others.
The official said that the products worth of $215.5 million were exported through this customs in the first month of last Iranian year.
"There is a crisis over the spread of the coronavirus around the world. "If the Bazargan customs resumes operations, Iran's exports will increase again," he said.
Iran's Bazargan customs is one of the main trade customs between Iran and Turkey.
Iran's West Azerbaijan province shares borders with Iraq, Turkey and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
