Turkmenistan’s Ak-hunji company has mastered the production of sheet plastic from propylene, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden Age) newspaper.
The used propylene is produced in Turkmenistan. Test batches of new material have already been released. Gas and chemical sectors of Uzbekistan provide raw materials for the manufacturing of products, for the production of polymers located in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan.
According to the company's General Director Bekmamet Chariyev, polypropylene sheet has a wide range of applications, in particular in the construction of swimming pools, as a facing material, in ventilation systems for the manufacture of laboratory equipment and food containers.
He also noted that the material can be used for storing and transporting acids, because it has good resistance to chemicals.
The company was founded in 2009 and is the largest manufacturer of similar materials in Turkmenistan. The European Bank for reconstruction and development granted the company a loan of $1.8 million in April of this year.
Thus, the technologies will ensure the annual production of 1,200 linear meters of new-generation finishing materials. The company also plans to export products to neighboring countries.
