Turkmenistan-Italy trade turnover details made public

The volume of bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and Italy from January through March 2020 amounted to almost 10.4 million euros, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The data was provided by Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Ungaro.

In 1Q2020, Italy exported products worth 8.9 million euros to Turkmenistan and imported products worth 1.5 million euros from the country, the report said.

Information on the volume of bilateral trade between Italy and Turkmenistan for 2019 was also provided. It grew by 83 percent compared to 2018, reaching more than 143 million euros.

Last year, the export from Italy to Turkmenistan amounted to 53.1 million euros, and the import of Turkmen products amounted to90.4 million euros.

The main exports from Italy to Tukrmenistan were electrical equipment (17.7 million euros), machinery (14.2 million euros), and rubber and plastic products (8.4 million euros).

In turn, Italy mainly purchased raw and processed energy products (amounting to 71.7 million euros and 14.7 million euros respectively). Italy also imported textiles worth 2 million euros and chemicals worth 1.6 million euros from Turkmenistan.
