Iran's SAIPA Group to launch production of new car models

TEHRAN, Iran, July 18

Iranian automaker SAIPA plans to start production of new models that will present be a fundamental change, said the deputy minister of Industry, Mine and Trade.

"SAIPA Group has a comprehensive plan in this regard, and its research center is designing new models by use of new technology," said Mehdi Sadeghi Niyaraki, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The auto industry was facing sanctions, but today it has developed domestic production. SAIPA has targeted to invest 300 million euros in the development of the industry," Sadeghi Niyaraki added. "The new models are upgraded versions of current products with improved quality and more options including, for example, performing simulation tests."

"SAIPA is one of the pioneers of domestic auto production focusing on localizing the auto part production. The automaker is cooperating with knowledge-based companies and domestic industries," the deputy minister added.

"Iran's auto industry has managed to increase its production capacities and reduce import of auto parts," he said.

He noted that Iran's auto production has increased by 18 percent in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) comparing to the same period of the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
