Enterprises of Iran's Ardabil Province resume operations

Activities of 30 enterprises operating in the agriculture sector of Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) were restored during four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21, 2020), Director of Agriculture Department of Ardabil Province Khalil Nikshad told IRNA, Trend report.

According to Nikshad, it is planned to restore the activities of 65 more enterprises in this sector during the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021).

Nikshad added that the problems of enterprises will be solved by solving problems that hinder production, issuing bank loans and providing working capital.

The director emphasized that it is planned to attract loans worth 800 billion rials (about $19 million) for provision of agricultural machinery in Ardabil Province in the current Iranian year.

"More than 700 billion rials [about $16.6 million] in loans were attracted over four months. These loans are provided for the purchase, supply and renewal of machinery in cultivation, horticulture, livestock, poultry, fisheries, medicinal plants and other areas of the agriculture sector," he said.

Iran's Ardabil Province produces 4.5 million tons of agricultural products a year. This production accounts for 4 percent of Iran's total agricultural production.

There are 750,000 hectares of land in Iran's Ardabil Province, of which 45,000 hectares are occupied by gardens and the rest is allocated for cultivation areas.
