Minister of Agriculture, Jamshid Khodjaev, together with a Republican working group visited Peshkun district of the Bukhara region, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Khodjayev stressed the importance of proper implementation of agrotechnical measures and stressed the shortcomings of seeds and chemicals which are not used properly.
Based on these shortcomings, the members of the Working group together with commercial banks studied the projects of modern greenhouses on 60 hectares in the Bukhara Agro free economic zone.
As a result of the discussions, the working group developed a new mechanism for the construction of greenhouses.
According to the mechanism, the owners of greenhouses created in the Peshkun district will be united in cooperation, and all projects in the field of greenhouses will be transferred to commercial banks for financing.
Also, according to the new mechanism, training seminars will be organized with the involvement of international and local experts to improve the knowledge and skills of people engaged in the direction of greenhouse management. Moreover, the development and implementation of new standards for greenhouse construction under the natural and climatic conditions of the country's regions will be completed in a short time.
Furthermore, according to the Ministry, the region will implement a $3.5 million greenhouse development project, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
At the meeting, an agreement to support the construction of modern greenhouses on the territory of the Bukhara Agro FEZ, as well as to prepare proposals for the use of domestic products in the construction of modern greenhouses was reached.
