Russia's exports to Turkmenistan increased by 2 times - up to $68 million in 1H2020, compared to the same period of last year, due to an increase in the supply of sugar, sunflower oil, potatoes, margarine, wheat and meslin, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture told Trend.

"The main agricultural crops supplied from Russia to Turkmenistan are sunflower oil, chocolate confectionery and margarine," the ministry said.

Furthermore, the ministry noted that foreign trade between Russia and Turkmenistan is developing successfully.

The parties are systematically working to increase the volume and expand the range of agricultural products and food to the markets of both countries.

Turkmenistan is assessing the possibility of harvesting new Russian winter wheat varieties in Research and Production Testing Center in Gubadag district of Dashoguz region.

Among them is Russia’s 'Alekseevich' medium-ripened wheat variety, as well as such varieties as Bezostaya-100, Kalym, Moskovskaya-56 and Bagrat.
