The Georgian government continues to help businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic - the Produce in Georgia Agency begins accepting business ideas for a grant program to promote small and micro-entrepreneurship, Trend reports via Georgian media.
Acceptance of applications will last until October 18 inclusive, said the director of the agency Mikhail Khidureli at a presentation for business representatives, familiarizing them with the conditions for submitting business ideas.
According to Khidureli, the budget of the program has been increased to 40 million lari ($12.5 million), and the amount of funding for one project - up to 30,000 lari ($9.4 million).
The amount of complicity of the entrepreneur who won the program will be 10 percent instead of 20 percent, and in the highlands - 5 percent, Khidureli said, saying that Tbilisi has been added to the target territorial units of the program.
"Any adult citizen of Georgia, as an entrepreneur who did not receive funding under the program or participating for the first time, as well as an entrepreneur who once received assistance under the program of small and micro-entrepreneurship, will have the right to participate in a grant competition announced under the state program. the opportunity to receive a grant within the framework of the program both in the case of expanding the activities already financed by him and in the case of a new business project, "said the director of the Agency.
At the same time, he noted that the program covers any economic activity, except for the production of primary agricultural products and services related to primary agricultural production.
Produce in Georgia is one of the most successful projects of the Georgian government aimed at stimulating local production in the country. The agency brings together all government programs aimed at promoting the business sector and the country's economic development.
