The President said that the decisions of the government's economic headquarters to use export earned currencies to import essential goods should be fully and quickly implemented and any delay or inconsistency is unacceptable.
The report on measures taken for faster clearance of basic goods and raw materials of factories from customs has been presented at Government`s Economic Coordination Headquarters today on Sunday, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Referring to the improving situation of the foreign exchange market, President Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that the foreign exchange, capital, and commodity markets would return to a stable situation.
Rouhani instructed the Ministries of Industry, Economy and Finance, and Agriculture Jihad to remove obstacles to the clearance of essential goods as soon as possible, and called on the Central Bank to cooperate.
Emphasizing that the livelihood of the people is the first concern of the government, he said that "Most of the food items are sufficiently produced domestically, so inconsistencies in the supply and distribution of these goods should not cause price instability."
“The recent fluctuations in the price of some basic items such as red meat are due to some inconsistencies in the supply and distribution chain," the president said.
“Such problems should be resolved as soon as possible,” he said referring to the tasks of Ministries of Industry and Agriculture.
He obliged the other relevant organizations to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry in regulating the market.
