Turkmenistan’s Halach enterprise of artistic carpet weaving has fulfilled the annual production program of carpet production ahead of schedule, Trend reports with reference to the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age).
The enterprise has manufactured almost 10,500 square meters of carpets and carpet products since the beginning of January. In particular, 850 square meters were released in excess of the task.
The volume of manufacture of carpet products has increased significantly compared to last year.
Turkmenistan intends to increase the production of carpets, as well as provide them to the domestic and foreign markets.
Currently, the textile industry has become an example of the dynamic growth of the processing sector of the national economy.
The country is working to meet domestic demand for environmentally friendly products, as well as to increase the export potential of domestic products.
Turkmen’s carpet is approved as one of the national symbols and declared a state property of the country.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are the production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand carpet-making tradition, and regeneration of old carpet ornaments and products.
