The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) partially lifted the restrictions on the import of tomatoes and peppers from Fergana region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor.
The Federal Service, starting from December 18, has allowed the import of tomatoes and peppers from seven enterprises from the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, in the products of which there are no quarantine objects for the EAEU (The Eurasian Economic Union) member states, as well as the brown wrinkle virus of tomato fruits in 2020.
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the decision was made on the basis of information provided by the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on the results of a survey of production sites and analysis of the state of greenhouses in the specified region of the country.
The import of tomatoes is allowed from Golden Tree LLC (Kushtepa district), Farhod Rancho FH (Kuvasoy) and Fargona Ziyo kuruvchi LLC (Kuvasoy) enterprises.
The import of peppers is allowed from New Wave FH (Oltiarik district), Zhilokor Zamini LLC (Dangara district), Saodatli Dil Farovon LLC (Dangara region) and Yuldashev Eldor LLC (Besharik district) enterprises.
The ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers from the Fergana region was introduced on November 26. Russia has banned the supply of all plant products from the Fergana region since December 7 due to the detection of a dangerous pest in the received batch of dried apricots - the khapra beetle. On December 11, the Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed a ban on the supply of tomatoes and peppers from the Kashkadarya and Navoi regions due to the detection of the brown wrinkle virus.
