EAEU countries approve concept for dev't of e-document management at sea checkpoints

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 5

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states have approved the Concept for the development of electronic document management at sea checkpoints with an Action Plan for 2021-2022, as well as the order of coordination and analytical support of selection and breeding work in animal husbandry, Trend reports citing the press office of Kazakhstan’s government.

The documents were approved during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIPC) meeting with the participation of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

During the meeting, Mamin called to strengthen work on the previously announced priorities of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the EAEU in 2021.

“Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev sent an appeal to the heads of the member states of the union, which outlined the main priorities in the year of our country's chairmanship. They are formulated taking into account the six-year experience of the EAEU existence and the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the new economic and social reality,” Mamin said.

He noted that Kazakhstan, as chairman of the EAEU bodies, will focus on giving a new impetus to industrial cooperation, eliminating barriers to mutual trade, fully using the potential of cross-border transport arteries and logistics hubs, comprehensive digitalization, and expanding access to foreign markets.

During the meeting, a number of issues were considered aimed at strengthening the legal framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Issues of internal and external trade policy of the EAEU were discussed, including the improvement of mechanisms for the application of special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures, updating the lists of countries-users of the unified system of tariff preferences of the EAEU.
