Azerbaijan shares data on revenues from customs duties for January 2021

The inflow of customs duties to the state budget of Azerbaijan in January 2021 decreased by 8.5 percent year on year and amounted to 77.1 million manat ($45.3 million), Trend reports referring to a source in the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the source, in the reporting month, the number of revenues to the state budget of the country through the SCC amounted to 282.7 million manat ($166.3 million), lower by 15.2 percent compared to January last year.

Meanwhile, the annualized revenues from VAT fell by 17.8 percent to 193.7 million manat ($113.9 million), said the source.

As reported, the volume of revenues from excise taxes edged down by 5.2 percent to 9.1 million manat ($5.3 million), and from road tax - by 2.7 percent to 2.7 million manat ($1.6 million).

The duties of the Azerbaijan Customs Service include protecting the sovereignty, economic and national security of Azerbaijan, as well as improving the social welfare of the people, promoting international trade, ensuring the collection of customs payments, and transferring them to the state budget, as well as preventing fraud in the customs sphere and combating international terrorism.
