A total of 790,000 tons of goods worth more than 109 trillion rials (about $2.59 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) last Iranian week (February 6 through February 11), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is an increase of 8 percent in terms of value and 9 percent in terms of volume compared to the preceding Iranian week (January 30 through February 4).
So, 718,000 tons of goods worth more than 101 trillion rials (about $2.4 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 367,000 tons of goods worth about 61.9 trillion rials (about $1.47 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.
"Thus, 342,000 tons of steel, 8,040 tons of copper, 8,650 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 15 tons of precious metal concentrate, 500 tons of coke, 80 tons of lead, 8,100 tons of zinc were sold in this section," the report said.
In addition, more than 415,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 47.2 trillion rials (about $1.12 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
According to the report, 99,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 151,000 tons of bitumen, 93,000 tons of polymeric substances, 38,000 tons of chemicals, 20,500 tons of lube cut, 70 tons of argon, and 10,000 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.
Furthermore, 7,830 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
