Iran to build new factory at Amirabad port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11

An animal and poultry feed factory will be built in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) with an investment of private sector, Director General of the Amirabad Ports and Maritime Department Mohammad Ali Saeedipour said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

Saeedipour stressed that a contract was signed with a representative of the private sector for the construction of the plant. This factory will be built in the port area.

The director-general added that a total of 384 billion rials (about $9.14 million) will be spent on the factory. The factory will produce 50,000 tons of animal and poultry feed per year and will employ 40 people.

Reportedly, the Amirabad port is located on an area of 1,060 hectares of land. There are 15 platforms with a length of 2,600 meters in this port. The port has the potential to receive 7.5 million tons of cargo a year. The port has 200 hectares of uncovered and 6.5 hectares of covered warehouses. There is a 25 km long railway inside the port.
