Iran talks about expenditures on agricultural machinery

A total of 160 trillion rials (about $3.8 billion) had been spent on machinery in Iran's agricultural sector from the beginning of the current Iranian government (which has been in power since August 2013) to the end of last Iranian year (March 20, 2021), Director of the Iranian Agricultural Equipment Development Center Kambiz Abbasi said, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran.

Abbasi noted that about 40 trillion rials (about $952 million) was spent on agricultural machinery over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). This is 25 percent of the total expenditures.

The director added that more than 50 trillion rials (about $1.19 billion) is expected to be spent on agricultural machinery during the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Iran has allocated 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) worth of loans for the purchase of agricultural machinery in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).

About 30,000 tractors, 800 units of the combined harvester, and 40,000 units of various agricultural machinery will be purchased with these funds.
