The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Protection under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan has now begun work on organizing all purchases through the e-procurement portal (e-tender.gov.az) and creating a single portal for the quality control system, the state service told Trend.

“A draft strategic roadmap of the state service for 2021-2023 has already been developed. Within the framework of this project, the strategic goals of the department can be divided into several areas,” the message of the service said.

“Adoption of the ‘Competition Code’ to protect and support the development of free and fair competition in the economy, as well as a new law ‘On public procurement’ to exercise state control over the procurement of goods, works and services at public expense, exercise state control over the quality and safety of services, improve legislation ensuring the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of consumers are our main priorities,” the service noted.

“Implementation of state policy in the field of standardization, metrology, technical regulation, conformity assessment, accreditation and quality management, ensuring the strengthening of regulatory and supervisory activities are the main tasks. To achieve all of these goals, a new approach will be adopted to expand institutional reforms, strengthen human capital and corporate governance,” the message said.
