Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

A total of 1.03 million tons of goods worth more than 99.7 trillion rials (about $2.37 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (June 19 through June 23, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 8 percent in terms of value and 25 percent in terms of volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (June 12 through June 17, 2021).

So, 824,000 tons of goods worth more than 92.2 trillion rials (about $2.19 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, about 664,000 tons of goods worth about 55 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 260,000 tons of steel, 10,000 tons of iron ore, 760 tons of copper, 1,310 tons of aluminum, 27 tons of precious metal concentrate, 78,400 tons of zinc, 307,000 tons of cement, 10 kg of gold bars and 7,000 tons of sponge iron were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 364,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 44.3 trillion rials (about $1.05 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 87,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 134,000 tons of bitumen, 94,700 tons of polymeric substances, 36,900 tons of chemicals, 8,000 tons of lube cut, 3,420 tons of base oil, 110 tons of argon, 1,300 tons of sulfur and 405 tons of facades were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 2,130 tons of various products worth 462 billion rials (about $11 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
