Iran sees decrease in passenger car manufacturing

Iran’s passenger car manufacturing decreased by 1 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the report of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the report, Iran manufactured 293,000 passenger cars over the reporting period. While in the same period last Iranian year, Iran has manufactured 295,000 passenger cars in total.

Iran produced 22,400 pickups in the four months, which is a decrease of 11.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, Iran produced 25,300 pickups in the same period last Iranian year.

“Furthermore, Iran produced 538 buses, minibusses, and vans within the mentioned period. This is a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, Iran has manufactured 544 buses, minibusses and vans in the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

During the 4 months, Iran manufactured 216 combine harvesters. Combine manufacturing increased by 30.9 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. While in the same period last Iranian year, 165 combines were produced in Iran.

According to the report, a total of 5,940 tractors were produced in Iran in the first 4 months of the current Iranian year. Tractor production increased by 2.4 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 5,800 tractors were produced in Iran in the same period last Iranian year.
