The volume of deposits in Kazakhstan’s deposit organizations amounted to 25.2 trillion tenge ($59.3 billion) in July 2021, which is 0.3 percent more compared to June 2021 and 21.8 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.
Deposits of legal persons increased in value by 0.2 percent to 12.9 trillion tenge ($30.4 billion), whereas deposits of physical persons increased by 0.4 percent to 12.2 trillion tenge ($28.8 billion).
In turn, the value of deposits denominated in the national currency (tenge) increased by 1.9 percent in a month to 16.1 trillion tenge ($37.9 billion), whereas the value of deposits denominated in foreign currency decreased by 2.4 percent to 9.06 trillion tenge ($21.3 billion).
The deposits dollarization level stood at 36 percent in July 2021 compared to 37.3 in Dec. 2020.
Tenge denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 3.1 percent in July 2021 and have amounted to 8.1 trillion tenge ($9.09 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of legal entities decreased by 4.4 percent to 4.8 trillion tenge ($11.3 billion).
Meanwhile, tenge denominated deposits of physical entities increased by 0.7 percent to 8.02 trillion tenge ($18.8 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of physical entities decreased by 0.1 percent to 4.2 trillion tenge ($9.9 billion).
The value of time deposits amounted to 17.2 trillion tenge ($40.6 billion), having increased by 1.3 percent in July 2021 compared to June 2021.
The weighted average remuneration rate on time deposits of non-bank legal entities in tenge amounted to 7.3 percent in July 2021 compared to 7.5 percent in July 2020, whereas the weighted average remuneration rate on deposits of physical entities was 8.5 percent compared to 10 percent in July 2020.
