Inflation in Uzbekistan's consumer sector stood at 0.5 percent in August, 2021, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 4.8 percent. There was traditionally deflation in June and July.
Food prices in August rose by 0.7 percent, while the increase was 0.3 percent for the same period last year.
Non-food products rose in price by 0.6 percent (it was 0.7 percent in August of the last year).
Prices for services increased by 0.2 percent (August 2020 it was 0.4 percent).
The central bank predicted inflation in the range of 10 percent for 2021 which is the lowest inflation rate since 2017.
