TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 25
Trend:
Iran`s thermal power plants have to be fully prepared to produce sustainable electricity in winter, Managing Director of Iran's Thermal Power Plant Holding (TPPH) Mohsen Tarztalab said, Trend reports citing ISNA.
Speaking of summer, he said that in order to increase the readiness of power plants for peak summer consumption next year, 711 overhaul projects have to be carried out.
The official also announced the implementation of 104,000 MW of power plant repair program.
In winter, the volume of gas delivered to power plants in Iran decreases along with a sharp increase in household consumption, he said, adding that the TPPH is trying to minimize the shortage of fuel reserves to generate electricity.
Tarztalab pointed to joint efforts of ministries of energy and oil to prepare the fuel reserves of thermal power plants.
"The TPPH seeks complete the repairs of high-efficiency combined-cycle power plants that produce more electricity with less fuel consumption," he said.
