The number of enterprises put into operation in Iran increased by 3.6 percent during first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.
According to statistics, in total, 2,657 industrial enterprises were put into operation in Iran over 5 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 2,564 enterprises.
“In addition, expenditures for the operation of these enterprises for 5 months, also increased by 173 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, a total of 1.08 quadrillion rials (about $25.7 billion) has been spent on the operation of the enterprises in Iran in first five months of the current Iranian year, while in the same period last Iranian year, the figure amounted to 395 trillion rials (about $9.41 billion),” the statistics said.
As a result of the operation of these enterprises, 64,258 people were provided with jobs in 5 months. The employment increased by 25.8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 51,094 people were provided with jobs in the same period last Iranian year.
Moreover, over 5 months, 14,850 enterprises in Iran were licensed to be setting up. These enterprises are expected to cost 5.02 quadrillion rials (about $120 billion) and employ 3.61 million people.
