Iran sees increase in exports from Hamadan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 13

A total of 72,400 tons of goods worth $38.3 million were exported from the Hamadan Province (western Iran), during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), Chairman for Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the Hamadan Province, Hamid Reza Matin told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to the chairman, over 7 months, 88 types of products were exported from the province to 27 countries, including China, the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, India, Kenya, Oman, Kuwait, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Matin also added that 29,500 tons of industrial products worth $7.37 million were exported from Hamadan Province during the reporting period, which accounted for about 20 percent of total exports from the province.

"In addition, $3.57 million worth of mining products were exported from the province in 7 months," he said.

The chairman noted that $10 million worth of chemicals, as well as $ 14.7 million worth of agricultural products were exported from the province in seven months.

"Moreover, $175,000 worth of handicrafts were exported from the province within the mentioned period," Matin said.

The chairman stressed that in 7 months, 7,320 tons of goods worth about $40.5 million were imported to Iran's Hamadan Province, which is an increase of 295 percent in terms of value and 118 percent in terms volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year. About 50 percent of imported goods were raw materials, 49 percent - manufacturing equipment and, 1 percent - consumer goods.
