Iran records increase in exports from Semnan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 15

The value of exports from the Semnan Province (northern Iran) increased by 41 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Chairman for Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Semnan Province, Hamid Reza Maddah said, Trend reports citing the organization.

According to him, more than 133,000 tons of goods worth $220 million were exported from the Semnan Province in 7 months.

The deputy added that each ton of exported goods for the reporting period averaged $1,650, which is an increase of 50 percent, compared to last Iranian year.

“The exported goods were mainly zinc ingots, light hydrocarbons, ferrosilicon, various wires, water conditioners, washing powder, iron and steel products, cement, ceramics, sweets, chocolate and etc. These goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkey, India, Italy, Georgia, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, the UAE, Indonesia and so on,” he said.

Maddah also noted that over 7 months, 6,000 tons of goods worth $29 million were imported to the province. The imports decreased by 6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The deputy chairman emphasized that the imported goods were mainly manufacturing equipment, spare parts and so on.

"Each ton of imported goods to the Semnan Province for the reporting period averaged $4,930. These goods were imported from Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UAE and others,” he said.
