TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.10
Iran's Ministry of Road and Urban Development plans to build a new residential city in Khoramabad County in Lorestan province, said Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
The plan is to build a new city in the capital of Lorestan Province to use these lands, Ghasemi noted.
The plan includes building 80,000 housing units in Lorestan Province in the next four years. Housing construction of 7,500 units started in Khoramabad County on Friday.
The ministry has assigned lands for housing construction plan and would purchase more areas from the private sector if necessary, Ghasemi indicated.
The new administration started building 700,000 housing units across the country so far.
The Ministry of Road and Urban Development plans to construct two million housing units for the low-income class in one year as part of a government landmark housing plan to build four million residential units in the next four years.
